Frequently Asked Questions

Need Signs Fast?

How quickly will my order be dispatched?

Orders placed before 11am (AEST) are prioritised for same-day dispatch if the items are in stock. Made-to-order signs are typically produced within 1–2 business days. Reflective signs such as Class 1 and Class 2 usually require additional curing time, so dispatch is generally within 2 business days. Delivery timeframes vary by location, with many metro areas receiving orders within 2–5 business days.

Do you offer urgent or priority orders?

Yes. Customers can select Express Shipping at checkout. If the order is urgent or tied to a compliance deadline, contact the team and we can prioritise production where possible.

Do you have a physical store or pickup option?

We operate from our production facility at Helensvale on the Gold Coast, QLD. Pickup is available by selecting Pickup at checkout. Alternatively, we ship Australia-wide daily.

Am I Buying the Right Sign?

What size safety sign do I need?

The correct size depends on viewing distance, the environment, and the applicable standard. As a practical rule, the sign must be easy to read from the point where the hazard, instruction, or direction needs to be understood. If you are unsure, we can help recommend the right size.

What type of sign material should I choose?

In general, our signs are made for Australian conditions, but some materials suit certain uses better than others, all our signs are UV Stable and outdoor suited. Aluminium, Steel is ideal for long-term outdoor use. Polypropylene and Corflute work well for medium to temporary signage. Vinyl Stickers are also good outdoor solution for varied uses. For harsh environments, protective laminate can extend life and improve durability. Refer to the Material Product Guide or contact us for advice.

What is protective laminate?

Protective laminate is a clear film applied over the sign face to improve durability. It helps protect against UV exposure, weathering, abrasion, and graffiti, and can extend the service life of the sign in demanding environments.

Compliance and Standards

What Australian Standards apply to signage?

The standard depends on the category. Workplace safety signs are commonly associated with AS 1319. Road signs are commonly associated with AS 1742 and AS 1743. Emergency lighting and exit signs are commonly associated with AS/NZS 2293. Fire equipment selection and location is commonly associated with AS 2444. Braille and tactile requirements are commonly associated with AS 1428.1 and AS 1428.4. Dangerous goods and GHS labelling requirements are generally tied to WHS regulations and the GHS framework. Pipe marking is commonly associated with AS 1345.

How do I know if my workplace is compliant with signage requirements?

Compliance depends on the hazards, the site layout, the industry, and the specific state or building requirements. If you are unsure, review the applicable standard and site requirements, or speak with us so we can help identify the signage likely to be required.

What happens if I do not have the correct signage?

Missing or incorrect signage can increase the risk of incidents, confusion during emergencies, non-compliance, penalties, and avoidable rework. Correct signage is one of the simplest ways to reduce risk and improve site safety.

Traffic Management, TMP and TGS

Can you help interpret a Traffic Management Plan (TMP)?

Yes. Many customers have a TMP but are not sure which signs they need. We can review the plan and help identify the required signage.

Can you supply all signage from a Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS)?

Yes. Send through your TGS and we can prepare a fast quotation for the required signage.

Can I install my own traffic or worksite signage?

Many businesses do install their own signage, especially when working from a TMP or TGS. However, you must still ensure the correct sign types are used, placement is correct, and local regulatory requirements are followed.

Custom Signs

Can you create custom safety signs?

Yes. Custom signs are a core part of our business. Customers can send through wording, dimensions, materials, logos, or artwork and we can prepare a custom quotation and layout.

Do you provide proofs before printing?

Yes. We provide proofs for custom signs before production. Customers should carefully check wording, layout, colours, sizes, and any compliance requirements before approving artwork.

Can you match Australian Standards for custom signs?

Yes, where a sign needs to align with a recognised standard, we can design the sign to suit the relevant format and requirements. It remains important to confirm the exact site and compliance requirements before final approval.

Product Questions

What is the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 reflective signs?

Class 1 reflective is generally used where the highest reflectivity and road compliance is required. Class 2 reflective provides high visibility and is often suitable for many general reflective signage applications. The correct class depends on the application and any relevant authority requirements.

Where should photoluminescent signs be used?

Photoluminescent signs are generally used indoors for emergency and evacuation applications. They absorb ambient light and glow when lighting fails, helping guide occupants to exits or emergency equipment.

Why are Quarantine and Biosecurity signs grouped together?

Quarantine terminology has largely been replaced by Biosecurity in modern legislation and practice. However, both terms are still commonly searched, so grouping them helps customers find the correct signage.

Installation and Support

How do I install my safety signs?

Installation depends on the surface and the material. Pole-mounted signs usually require brackets. Wall and fence signs often use screws or rivets. Corflute and polypropylene signs should not be installed with acid-cure silicone, as it can damage the material. Refer to our installation guidance or contact us for project-specific advice.

Do you install safety signs?

We are primarily a supply company, but we can often refer customers to trusted installers when required.

What if I order the wrong sign?

If you are unsure, contact us before ordering and we will help guide you. For custom or made-to-order signs, changes may not be possible once production has started.
